Scholarships

Each year, the Wildcat Athletic Booster Club proudly awards financial scholarships to graduating Deep Run seniors in recognition of their excellence in athletics, academics, extracurricular involvement, community service, and personal character. Seniors are invited to apply by submitting an application and personal statement that highlights their accomplishments and impact.

Important: All scholarship recipients must have a parent or guardian who is a member of the Wildcat Club.
The following awards are available:

Booster Club Athletic Awards: (4) $1,000 scholarships — awarded to two male and two female senior athletes
Darrel R. Jenkins Awards: (2) $250 scholarships — awarded to one male and one female senior athlete
Art Washburn Award: (1) $1,000 scholarship — awarded to one outstanding overall athlete

Deep Run Booster Club Scholarship for Athletics

The Deep Run Booster Club will present four $1000 scholarships to two male seniors and two female seniors that display excellence within the athletic department of Deep Run High School. The intent to recognize great student athlete's, overall that represents Deep Run High School as a whole.

Darrell R. Jenkins Scholarship for Excellence

The Deep Run High School Wildcat Club will present two $250.00 scholarships to one male senior and one female senior that displays excellence within the athletic department of Deep Run High School. The intent of these scholarships is to recognize someone working behind the scenes as a student assistant for a team, trainer assistant or a player that provides excellence beyond the games to the success of their team’s program.

Art Washburn Make A Difference Award

Art Washburn was a proud Deep Run parent and community leader who lived his life serving others. He dedicated his time and talents towards various nonprofit organizations whose causes he was passionate--one being the Athletic Boosters of Deep Run High School. He never stopped working to make the world a better place and encouraged others to give of themselves. This $1000 award will be given to the student athlete who best displays Art’s qualities and commitment to making a difference.
